Nina, before
Nina is a sweet side table that needed... something. It had great elements- lovely curves and details, but felt dull. I was torn between antiquing the piece with a dark glaze to showcase it's details, or distressing it to expose the wood beneath. I went back in forth for a while, and even tried out both ideas on two different sides of the table. Once I saw both options side by side, I knew distressing it was the way to go. (MAN I regret not taking a picture of both! I was just so excited to keep going!) The distressing carries your eye around the table and creates visual interest. The hint of green gives it character and brightens the piece up! Here are some more images:
